Not long ago I walked on the Great Wall of China. Unless one has been there it is difficult to envisage the enormous scale of it .It is 5500 kilometres long, wide enough for a carriage and has many outbuildings and passages and steps. It tooks hundreds of years to build and can be seen from the moon with the naked eye.
